Same Day Appointments

In order to better serve your unplanned medical needs, same day appointments are available to patients using MyChart. Same day appointments allow us to care for you and your loved ones when unplanned medical conditions occur. Simply log on to MyChart to see if any Same Day Appointments are available. Once you are logged in, select “Visits”, “Schedule an appointment”, “Same Day Urgent Care Pesetas”. Note: Same Day Appointments are not available for patients with COVID-19 symptoms.

Alternatively, you can call your Primary Care Provider's (PCP) office at (805) 681-7500 to check for same day appointments with your PCP or one of their colleagues. If your PCP does not have availability, then our highly trained staff will help you find a same day appointment with the first available PCP, or direct you to Urgent Care.

When to Go to Urgent Care

The medical staff at our Urgent Care department is an important part of your healthcare team. Urgent care is an option when same day appointments are unavailable. Our Urgent Care clinics can handle medical conditions that are unplanned, and that need to be treated right away but are not life or limb-threatening emergencies. Urgent Care also provides a higher level of care such as IV therapy and wound care, or immediate treatment outside of regular office hours.

While our Urgent Care clinics are often convenient, your Primary Care Provider (PCP) will have a better picture of your overall health due to their familiarity with your health history. In the event that ll same day appointments are filled at your PCP's office, Urgent Care may also schedule same day appointments.

*Infants less than 6 weeks of age cannot be seen at the Sansum Clinic Urgent Care department and should be taken to the nearest Emergency Room or their pediatrician's office.

Board-Certified Providers at Urgent Care

All of our urgent care providers are board-certified physicians, nurse practitioners or physician assistants. While you can't choose who you get to see in urgent care, you are in good hands with any of our healthcare providers.

MyChart for Non-Urgent Messages

MyChart provides you secure online access to your health information and enables you to communicate with your healthcare team. Our goal is to respond to MyChart messages within 1 to 3 business days. MyChart should not be used for urgent matters. Please call your PCP's office if the situation requires immediate attention, or dial 911 in an emergency.
