"While I feel that my story is really just getting started, I wanted to take a moment to share a message of gratitude for what Sansum's DWMP and my Health Educator, Alysha have enabled me to achieve in the first 5 months of the program. I started a self-directed weight loss program in January and lost 25 pounds in the first few months. However, I recognized that I would need to have a more structured program to maintain that momentum for an extended time in order to reach my goal of losing 135 pounds by Jan 2019. I decided to check out the DWMP program upon Dr. Holderness' recommendation and was impressed with the level of support and tools available. I feel fortunate to have landed in the care of Alysha who has been a constant source of support, wisdom, encouragement, and challenge. Following are some of the benefits that I have gained in just five short months of being in the program: * 75 pounds lost since April (100 since Jan '18) * BMI improvement enabled me to receive ablation treatment to eliminate A-fib and stop taking associated medication, and also schedule a much needed TKR * No longer need CPAP for sleep apnea * Completely new wardrobe which enabled me to donate an entire closet full of clothes to the Unity Shoppe * I have increased my bike rides to 100 miles per week and plan to participate in a Century (100 miles) ride next month * I've also started training at Killer B's HIIT program at Donna's recommendation, which I would not have considered before participating in DWMP * There are many other benefits that I experience in daily living and it just keeps getting better. One thing that I am really clear about is that I have not reached a resting point, but rather a launching pad for my journey. I am even more excited about what lies ahead than I was on day 1 of the program.
