How are star ratings for providers determined?

Star ratings are based on responses to survey questions that focus on a patient's likelihood to recommend the provider's office to family and friends as well as the provider's care, including whether the provider listened carefully, spent enough time with you, explained things in an easy-to-understand way, and seemed to know important information about your medical history. Press Ganey averages and converts all survey responses into a single star rating, with five stars being the highest.

Dr. Shafer graduated from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and completed his residency at the University of Colorado Health Services Center in Aurora, Colorado. Dr. Shafer completed his fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts and currently holds the distinction of Medical Director, Echocardiography Laboratory and is part of the Heart Valve Team (TAVR Program) at Cottage Hospital.
