Sansum Clinic Wishes to Thank Montecito Bank & Trust

On November 20, 2023 Sansum Clinic proudly received a Montecito Bank & Trust Community Dividends award. Sansum Clinic’s VP of Oncology Services Matt Baumann and Chief Operating Officer Chad Hine accepted this award from Janet Garufis, Montecito Bank Chairman and CEO.

The Community Dividends Program began in 2003 when its late founder, Michael Towbes, invited 100 nonprofits to lunch and surprised each (including Sansum Clinic) with $10,000.  We have been receiving a Community Dividends award annually ever since. This unique program, now in its 21st year, has granted more than $22 million to local nonprofit organizations in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties who serve low and moderate-income individuals and families.

Sansum Clinic has a longtime relationship with Montecito Bank & Trust. Garufis is a former chair of Sansum Clinic Board of Trustees, and currently serves on the Clinic’s Community Advisory Board. At the start of the pandemic in March 2020, many individuals and businesses asked how they could help our Clinic. This interest prompted the establishment of our Pandemic Relief Fund, with the first gift generously provided by Montecito Bank & Trust.
