About
Medical Oncologist and Hematologist Isaac Abu Zaanona, MD completed his Hematology-Oncology fellowship at Oschner Medical Center, and his Internal Medicine residency at Carle Foundation Hospital, where he was Chief Medical Resident and board member of the Champaign County Medical Society. He earned his medical degree from Al Quds University Faculty of Medicine in Palestine.
An advocate for shared decision-making and palliative medicine, Dr. Zaanona integrates these principles into his approach to cancer care. He is dedicated to ensuring that each patient’s preferences and values are central to their treatment plans, with a focus on enhancing quality of life through compassionate, individualized care.
Dr. Zaanona is deeply committed to advancing education and healthcare policy reform in oncology. He provides gender-inclusive and culturally sensitive care, addressing healthcare disparities, and ensures equitable access and treatment for all patients. His holistic approach emphasizes both the physical and emotional well-being of his patients.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Zaanona is an avid traveler and enjoys fitness activities, reading, and playing the piano. He is fluent in English andArabic, and conversant in Spanish.
