Sansum Clinic Appoints Santa Barbara’s First Breast Care Navigator - Archived
Evelyn Schladweiler, RN, BSN, has joined Sansum Clinic as Santa Barbara’s first Breast Care Navigator.
“We are pleased to welcome Evelyn in this special role that will improve our ability to serve our breast cancer patients, “said Kurt N. Ransohoff, MD, CEO & Medical Director of Sansum Clinic. “Evelyn will provide personalized service to patients recently diagnosed with breast cancer, guiding them through every aspect of treatment and helping to manage the fears associated with their diagnosis.”
Evelyn will implement a plan for each patient based on his or her personal needs and medical history, and will help manage and coordinate doctor’s office visits, diagnostic tests, and facilitate communication between our specialists and the patient’s primary care physician.
Evelyn will serves as a source of empowerment for patients by providing comprehensive information, compassionate support and advocacy. She is an excellent resource for information about breast cancer education, research, lifestyle changes and financial concerns.
Evelyn earned her nursing degree from Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles and holds special certification in Public Health Nursing. Prior to joining Sansum Clinic, she worked as a Geriatric Care Manager with the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care of Santa Barbara, as a Santa Barbara County Public Health Nurse specializing in Preventive Healthcare and Wellness, and as a Clinical Nurse Researcher at the UCLA School of Nursing. Evelyn is bilingual in Spanish.
