Launching a new electronic health record system is an exciting step for Sansum Clinic and is one of the most ambitious projects in our 90-year history.
A project of this size will take time and coordination. We have already started laying the foundation of our technical infrastructure to support the Wave. By now you may have seen some of the computer workstations we are installing in every exam room. While most of this work will occur after hours, there may be times when you notice our construction activity. Thank you for your patience!
Our anticipated timeline is as follows:
The first phase of the project began in all of our sites during the first quarter of 2011. This phase allows care providers to document your allergies, medications and immunizations as well as medical history and active healthcare issues. Your Sansum Clinic providers will also be able to review your test results and digitally sign their progress notes.

We will continue to roll out the complete Wave electronic health record location by location. This phase will add new features that enhance the capabilities of the Wave. For example, all prescriptions and test orders will be entered directly into the Wave and distributed electronically. And all exam information, including vital signs, medications and progress notes will be recorded in the Wave.
A secure web portal will enable patients to access information such as educational materials, visit details, lab results and immunization records. Look for additional information with step-by-step instructions for MyChart registration.
The primary goal of this initiative is to enhance our services to you, our patients. While this will be an ongoing project over several years, we know the end result will position us to provide the high level of care you deserve far into the future. We appreciate your patience as we work to bring the Wave online!
