Sansum Clinic cares for the good health of people who could not otherwise afford medical services through its collaboration with Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics (SBNC).
Medical services offered include Diagnostic Services and Colonoscopy Screenings.
Sansum Clinic cares for the good health of people who could not otherwise afford medical services through its collaboration with SBNC, providing more than $400,000 annually in diagnostic services (e.g. CT scans and heart studies). SBNC qualifies patients and then refers them to Sansum Clinic. These are patients with no health insurance and without the means to pay for much needed medical services.
Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics serve as the gatekeeper for two programs. The first is the colonoscopy screening program which was established through a generous gift to Sansum Clinic from Santa Barbara philanthropist, Dr. Virgil Elings. The colonoscopy screening program is the largest free colon cancer screening program on record in the country. Dr. Elings made a financial commitment to screen 500 residents. As of April 2013, more than 400 people have benefited from the program.
Gifts of support to Sansum Clinic can help cover the cost of diagnostic services we provide for free through our collaboration with the Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics.
