The Cancer Center provides medical care in three departments: Medical Oncology & Hematology, Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine. We are the sole provider of Radiation Therapy in Santa Barbara and our medical oncology team includes 8 physicians trained at world-renowned institutions.
Our medical departments are complemented by robust clinical support services including Patient Navigation, Genetic Counseling, Oncology Nutrition services and an advanced Clinical Research Program which provides patients with access to a wide variety of clinical trials and state-of-the-art care.
Our Oncology Supportive Care Programs take an integrative approach to cancer care by focusing on the “whole” person – body, mind and spirit. Patients can participate in complementary therapies such as yoga, nutrition, and healing touch to reduce stress, improve treatment tolerance or enhance recovery even while receiving traditional treatment. A wide range of exercise, stress management, creative arts and information and support resources are available to patients and their families. Click here to learn more.
In addition to providing medical care, we are committed to helping people with the emotional and practical aspects of a cancer diagnosis. Our Oncology Social Work Services Program offers a wide range of logistical assistance and resources for patients, family members and friends. Transportation to treatments, financial assistance and help with legal and insurance challenges are but a few of the available services. Our Cancer Resource Library is a comfortable facility with print and electronic cancer education and resource materials available free-of-charge to patients, families, community members and healthcare professionals.
