Primary Duties The selected candidate will support the Clinical Research Department to deliver quality services within the Clinic and the community it serves. Clinic positions are dynamic jobs; functions will be modified and improved as necessary to promote a team effort in support of the Sansum Clinic Mission Statement.
Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This list may not include all of the duties assigned): Under direct supervision, assist with planning and development, and oversight of day-to-day clinical activities for specified clinical trials in accordance with the research protocol established by the sponsor. Support day-to-day interaction with associated departments and physicians, and assist with patient recruitment and administration. Provide and coordinate services and procedures to patient participants as required by the individual protocol.
SPECIFICALLY:
> Assist with the planning, scheduling, and carrying out of day-to-day clinical activities and procedures, ensuring efficient workflow and adequate care and treatment of research subjects.
> Ensure that all clinical activities are carried out in accordance with the specific research protocol and compliance with GCP and Federal regulations regarding research subjects.
> Coordinate the recruitment, care, and treatment of patient research subjects; coordinate services with other clinic departments.
> Monitor study activity and prepare reports as appropriate.
> Serve as point of contact for coordination between investigators, ancillary departments, research subjects, sponsoring organizations, and/or regulating bodies.
> Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
> Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
> Ability to organize, prioritizes, and schedule work assignments.
> Knowledge of the principles and procedures of clinical research.
> Knowledge of ethical principles and federal and state regulations governing the participation of human subjects in biomedical research.
> Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
> Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
> Ability to gather data, compiles information, and prepares reports.
> Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
> Knowledge of related accreditation (ACRP) and certification (CCRC) requirements.
> Participate in department quality improvement activities, clinical safety, infection control and hazardous materials programs and activities. All clinic positions require discretion and a high degree of confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications The ability to accurately and timely perform all essential functions of the job. The requirements listed below are representative of the skill and or ability required by those employed in similar capacities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
> At least 2 years work in a medical setting
> At least 2-3 years of clinical research experience preferred
> Able to speak, read, comprehend English.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: The physical demands of this position are consistent with those found in the office environment of a clinic or hospital. Extensive sitting and standing required, some, bending, stooping, reaching, stretching and lifting.
Demonstrable ability to adapt to varied, age-specific groups, patients and the general public. Requires high level of contact with internal staff and outside physicians, professionals and patients.
Employee must pass the Sansum Clinic pre-placement physical screening exam.
